Nominations announced for the 4th Platino Iberoamericano film awards

Penelope Cruz has scored her first Platino Iberoamericano Film Award nomination for her role in “Queen of Spain.”
The star was one of the twenty nominees in the Best Actress category announced in Madrid Tuesday (4 APRIL 2017) afternoon by Natalia de Molina, Adrian Lastra and Asier Exteandia.
She competes with Angie Cepeda, Barbara Lennie, Cecilia Roth, Eduarda Gurrola, Emma Suarez, Erica Rivas, Gianella Neyra, Gloria Pires, Jana Raluy, Jazmin Boragin, Juana Acosta, Julia Lubbert, Liliana Biamonte, Macarena Arias, Margarida Vila-Nova, Natalia Oreiro, Noelia Campo, Pakriti Maduro and Sonia Braga.
In the Best Actor category, the nominees were Alexander Leterni, Alfredo Castro, Andres Crespo, Andres Parra, Armando Miguel Gomes, Damian Alcazar, David Maler, Eduard Fernandez, Elmis Castillo, Emilio Barreto, Fernando Alves Pinto, Filipe Duarte, Hugo Piccinini, Juliano Cazarre, Julio Cesar Ticona, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Luis Gnecco, Oscar Martinez, Roberto Alamo and Yotuel Romero.
And Best Films nominated were “Anna” (Colombia), “Aquarius” (Brazil), “Much Ado About Nothing” (Chile), “Boi Neon” (Brazil/Uruguay), “Letters from War” (Portugal), “From Afar” (Venezuela/Mexico), “Desierto” (Mexico), “El acompanante” (Cuba/Colombia/France/Panama/Venezuela), “The Distinguished Citizen” (Argentina/Spain), “The Man with Thousand Faces” (Spain), “I’m Gilda (Argentina), “Julieta (Spain), “La Semilla del silencio” (Colombia), “The Chosen Ones” (Mexico/USA), “Neruda” (Chile/Argentina/Spain/France), “Santa and Andres” (Cuba), “Siete semillas” (Peru), “Sin Mortes no hay carnaval” (Ecuador/Mexico), “A Monster Calls” (Spain) and “Dark Skull” (Bolivia/Qatar).
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 22 July.
